Lloyd Banks, former member of G-Unit, is back with a new mix-tape for the fans. Although this has been out for almost a month, I really had to force myself to give it a good listen because I haven't been a fan of Banks for a long time now. When I look back at it though, lyrically he is not the worst but image wise he seems a little gimmicky and outdated (flaskbacks to him wearing blue fur chinchilla jackets). With features from NY rappers Styles P, ASAP Rocky, and Prodigy of Mobb Deep, this tape shows Banks' has been steady improving lyrically. What makes this tape even better is that there is no 50 cent on any of the tracks. His breakaway from G-Unit was probably one of his best career moves and, in my opinion, he probably was one of the best rappers in the group. The beats and Banks flow shows he is ready to reclaim the fame and respect he had in the early 2000's, but still stays true to a very NY sound. Definitely worth a listen if you are a fan or not.
