Sometimes a remix is more than just a new beat or some extra verses, but a complete change in songs vibe and definition. With each DJ that samples or mizxes the track, they can change the tone or sound to fit a completely new genre or audience. I think most artists need remixes for their original songs because it can also help bring in a new fan base from all over the world.
