First Listen Playlist

"Dig That" Mac Miller ft. Cam'Ron- Chill, smooth track that you can sit back light one to or just enjoy as background noise. Good to have Cam'Ron back, still rapping the same though and Mac Miller does his thing lyrically. Worth a listen and download. If I would rate it, I would say 3 outta 5 stars. The track left you wanting more, like "thats it?"

"Bobbie Miles" Big K.R.I.T.- Becoming a huge fan of KRIT and on this track he shows off his versatility as a rapper. Channeling the sport's great Bobbie Miles, this laid back track is motivated by the jazz beat and saxophone playing in the background coupled with a somewhat off beat rap. Not his best work, but I can respect him for doing something different and motivational. Not everything can be heavy bass driven and for the club.
the download is in the youtube video page

"Jada Fire" Kevin McCall ft Chris Brown, Sammie, and Diesel- Chris Brown's brother from another is back with his own solo (kinda) track dedicated to the porn actress Jada Fire. It's clear this dude about fun and the stereotypical ish rappers love, especially objectifying girls. I cant hate on him for that though because girls complain but still be dancing to it. This track is heavy on bass, fun, has the cliched clapping break in the beat, and Brown offers up some 16 bars. Its clear McCall loves women and partying but this is about the third or so leak from him about it, waiting to see something a little different or is this his schtick?

"Angels and Stars" Eric Turner ft Tinie Tempah, and Lupe Fiasco- Although not a Lupe track, it is clear that he is still riding off the commercial success but fan failure of Lasers. He channels his inner rock with this song but isnt saying much of anything on the first verse. After listening to this track, all I remember is Turner's wailing on the chorus and the usual Tinie Tempah 16 bar rap. The song is definitely geared towards being a radio/commercial success and I'm happy Lupe is doing his thing while keeping his pockets fat but can he retain his individuality and maintain the same personality he had when Food&Liquor dropped. As an artist you do grow, but don't let dollar signs change you into another clone.

"Albert Pujols"-Wale ft Fabolous and Rick Ross- Wale recently leaked a new track inspired by the ball player Albert Pujols. This track has been on replay on my iTunes for awhile, there is something about the mesmerizing beat, Wale's 16, Fabolous ripping his verse, and Ross' added grunts and talking to give it enough street appeal that makes this track work. Something ratchet/hood enough that you can close your eyes and just imagine riding with a cadillac, sitting on deuces, with a sub woofer in the back, not giving a sh*t.

"Teleport 2 Me, Jamie" WZRD ft Desire- For awhile Cudi has been making a steady musical and sound progression towards becoming a rocker and with this track he is there. Giving off his best hipster appeal and singing to the masses of PBR lovers, Cudi actually makes a decent and interesting track. He shows a softer and more emotional side but still keeps it somewhat uplifting with the melodic beat and Desire's vocals. I really like this haunting and lover's inspired track. Don't know who this Jamie chick is but Cudi misses her and wants her bad.
