Meet Sir Michael Rocks, one half of the (still considered) up and coming rap group known as The Cool Kids. If you’re a fan of rap, then most likely you’ve heard at least one of the many bass thumping tracks from this powerful rap duo, with hits such as “I Rock,’ ‘ Gold and a Pager,’ and the always classic jam, ‘Mikey Rocks.’ Released this past March in 2011, Rocks’s mixtape entitled, The Rocks Report, can only be described as an instant hip-hop classic. I’ve purchase a lot of albums this year and I’ve copped a lot of mixtapes, but this by far has been my favorite of the year. Whether it’s the smooth melodic baseline of “Summertime” or the hard-hitting sound of “Hate Me Too,” there is truly something for everyone on this mixtape. Maybe too many tracks, but we could all use a few more songs on an album these days, right? Guest appearances on the album include Like and Mibbs of Pac Div, Sir Charles, DJ Thunder, and Phil Adé. Production comes courtesy of Ski Beatz, Madlib, and Tyehill.
Did I mention he put this out for FREE?! Wow very impressive. Click the link at the bottom of our post for a free download of this classic.
