Ludacris is back and this mixtape is reminiscent of his early 2000 sound, which explains the Back to the Future inspired title 1.21 gigawatts. For those who have twitter already know that Luda dropped this album and featured a diss track to Big Sean and Drake called “Bada Boom.” Now I am a fan of Big Sean and Drake is ok when he isn’t locked into his feelings but for Ludacris to start beef with them is pointless in my eyes. Luda has been out for over a decade and never failed to drop hits with every project. Lyrically alone Luda could crush both rappers and in sales I know he trumps both emcees. I don’t know why rappers who have been in the game for a long period of time try to come for blood with younger rappers. Let em live and make your money. I mean look what happened to Lil Kim. The only thing rappers are doing by showing their problem with younger rappers is their insecurity that their star is burning out. Let em live Ludacris and crush them in the charts, not with a weak diss from a free mixtape. Drake and Big Sean are still new to the game and although they may seem cocky, what rapper isn’t?
Now with this mixtape stays true to the sound that he entered the game with. This album features lyrical talents from Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Waka Flocka, Big K.R.I.T 2 Chainz, and many more. The tape is good and Luda still has it, but I don’t know if anyone was wondering.
