"Girl you so beautiful...now get your ass up on that pole." Not a line that most women would appreciate or even respond to but singer Chris Brown and producer Kevin "K-Mac" McCall are basically calling for beautiful women to show their skills on that stripper pole. Similar to Omarion and Bow Wow, this duo has been steady leaking tracks and working together to show they are the new "bad boys" of R&B and rap. Their new song, "Mona Lisa," draws inspiration from the Da Vinci's iconic work and, not to be confused with the Fugee's classic by the same name, glorifies a beautiful/classy woman who can show off her skills on the stripper pole while money is being thrown at her. I don't know if this is the interpretation that Da Vinci had in mind when he unveiled his masterpiece, but I am sure it is safe to assume no.
All jokes aside, the song is pretty basic with a recurring line "Get your ass up on that pole" in the beat. I am not really buying the whole new image Brown is trying to portray but the vocals go well with the instrumental and K-Mac and Brown's 16 bars are tolerable. This track shouldn't be taken seriously because it is clear the two are just having fun playing with some new sounds and trying to show a harder image.
